    Through online educational games, the 5th grade students will be able to interpret historical data of Southern regions and identify the major trades of different states with 80% accuracy.

    Activities and Procedures:
    Monday: Watch the video, U.S. Geography: The South as a class and pause to answer the onscreen questions as they come up. Have students record their answers in their social studies notebooks. Ask students about what physical features the video discusses and make a classroom list of specific physical features found in the South.

    Tuesday: Review the notes taken from Monday’s video. Display pictures of the following physical features on Google Earth and compare them, all found in the South. Have students note their differences and similarities on the SMART Board:

    Thursday: Divide the class into groups, and assign each one of the five physical features to research. Tell the groups to prepare a PowerPoint presentation for the class about their assigned feature. Also required is a posterboard with a visual of the physical feature they are presenting on. Each presentation should be a minimum of five minutes in length, maximum of 10 minutes. The presentations also should include the following aspects of each physical feature:

    Friday: Have groups present on their assigned physical feature.
